L-class Blimp
Technical Information

Background
The L-class blimps were training airships operated by the U.S. Navy (USN) during World War II. The fisrt three L-1, L-2 and L-3 operated from NAS Lakehurst. When the United States entered World War II, the Navy took over the operation Goodyear Aircraft Company's five commercial blimps: Resolute, Enterprise, Reliance, Rainbow, and Ranger designed L-4 to L-8. The next four L-9 to L-12 were built at NAS Moffett Field.
