Pilot ? MIA February 1, 1944 Aircraft History Built by Vought. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as OS2U-3 Kingfisher bureau number 5906. Wartime History Assigned to USS Indiana (BB-58) to squadron VO-8. No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On February 1, 1944 took off from USS Indiana (BB-58) and last seen 3,000–4,000 yards east of Carlson Island near Kwajalein Island then was never seen again. When this aircraft failed to return it was declared Missing In Action (MIA). Also lost was OS2U Kingfisher 5750.
