Robert Rocker adds: "When the 8th PRS was operating as a photo unit Fairbanks was the most important man on the airfield as he was the Liaison officer from 5th Air Force Headquarters to the 8th PRS and he assigned the targets that they were to film each day and he had a intel unit that looked at the film as soon as it came in and reported Japanese aircraft counts on on a daily basis as weather permited plus assigned mapping duty.
