The tip of the nose and propeller spinners are painted red. On the left side of the nose was Bong's scoreboard with Japanese rising sun flags in five rows representing his 27 aerial victory claims (as of April 12, 1944) in five rows (6+6+5+5+5) inside a rectangle. Ground support equipment is nearby including a compressor on wheels and fire extinguisher near the left engine.
