The left side of the nose has Constructors Number 1358 and Squadron Number 79. The left gun access hatch is open with the ammunition containers for the .50 caliber machine guns are visible. Below the cockpit is a black rectangle with "Pilot Capt R. I. Bong, Crew C: T/Sgt C. C. Breden, Ass't C.C. Cpl W. Finkel". Below was a scoreboard with Japanese rising sun flags (5x5x5x4) indicating Bong's 19 aerial victory claims as of November 1943. The plane has a pair of drop tanks attached.
