P-38J "Jandina IV" 43-28832 left side of the nose with scoreboard
On the left nose gun cowling was the nickname "Jandina IV" (partially covered by the propeller blade). Below the cockpit is "Maj. Jay T. Robbins" and his scoreboard with twenty-one Japanese rising sun flags (4x4x4x4x4x1) his aerial victory claims as of August 17, 1944. A twenty-second Japanese rising sun flag representing his last aerial victory on November 14, 1944. Below the scoreboard was "-Crew- SSgt H.P. Mosback". At the lower right is one of the drop tanks.
