Aircraft History Built by Bell in Buffalo, New York. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-39 model and serial number unknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas to the South Pacific and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 13th Air Force (13th AF). No known nickname or nose art. Mission History Took off piloted by Lt. Kramer. This Airacobra went down in the vicinity of Ferguson Passage. Fate of the Pilot On September 3, 1943 Lt. Kramer was rescued by coastwatcher at Wana Wana and returned to duty.
