Aircraft History Built by Curtiss in Buffalo, New York. Constructors Number 28716. Assigned to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-40N-5-CU Warhawk serial number 42-104949. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 49th Fighter Group (49th FG). No known nickname or nose art. Ultimate fate unknown. Reportedly, in May 1991 registered to Reevers Pastoral Pty Ltd, Magill North, South Australia in Australia as VH-DEA. On February 22, 2013 a certificate of airworthiness was issued for P-40N 42-104949 registered as VH-DEA. During March 2014 to Mr. Tristan Masterson, Cambridge Park, NSW. During 2015, sold to another unknown owner and a new certificate of airworthiness was issued with the Australian registration canceled. On February 6, 2015 to American Mr. Mickael Rabilloud and presumably shipped to the United States. On August 8, 2017 a P-40N Warhawk serial number 42-104949 was registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as N537BR registered to owner Southern Aircraft Consultancy Inc. Trustee in Norfolk, United Kingdom. It is unclear if this is actual aircraft or a newly built aircraft that has assumed this serial number and identity. Other sources list the nickname as "Kathleen II".
