Aircraft History
Built by Curtiss in Buffalo, New York. Assigned U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) serial number 43-5508. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia as part of lend-lease.
Wartime History
During March 1943, assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Kittyhawk serial number A29-310. Assigned to 2 OTU with code "310" painted in yellow on the side of the roundel.
Mission History
On January 11, 1945 suffered a landing mishap that stood the aircraft onto its nose causing minor damage. Afterwards, it was used as a target at Werribee and destroyed on the bombing range during July 1947.
Wreckage
Wreckage remained at the range. The tail assembly still has '10' visible on it.
Restoration
Acquired by Precision Aerospace and being restored from scratch.
