Aircraft History Built by Republic at the Indiana Division of Republic Aviation in Evansville, IN. Constructor Number 3250. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-47D-28-RA Thunderbolt serial number 42-29088. Disassembled and shipped overseas to the Pacific and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 35th Fighter Group (35th FG), 41st Fighter Squadron (41st FS) at Clark Field. No known nose art or nickname. The tail had a strip in the center with squadron number 74. The tail rudder had horizontal red and white stripes. Later, transferred to the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force / Fuerza Aérea Expedicionaria Mexicana (FAEM), Escuadrón 201 (EAP 201). No known nickname or nose art. The tail rudder had vertical a green, white and red stripe representing the flag of Mexico but retained the U.S. star and bar markings on the wings and fuselage. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
