Aircraft History Built by Republic. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-47D Thunderbolt serial number unknown. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 348th Fighter Group (348th FG), 341st Fighter Squadron (341st FS) "Black Jack". Nicknamed "Naughty Nadine" in white block letters on the left side of the engine cowling with the nose art of a woman reclining on the right side of engine cowling. The tail was painted white a large squadron number 36 above the serial number. Assigned to pilot 1st Lt. John S. Lolos in late 1943 until early 1944. At least three victory markings were painted on the left side of the fuselage below the cockpit. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared. References Thanks to John S.
