Five-Year Old Daughter Accepts Medal Awarded Father
"Anne Melton, daughter of Colonel Harry R. Melton, missing in action in Burma since November 25 [1943], receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross [DFC] awarded her father 'extraordinary achievement in aerial flight from Colonel Douglas Johnson, right commanding officer of Mitchel Field. Her mother, of St. Petersburg, Fla and her grandparents, Colonel and Mrs. Harry R. Melton, of 7119 Shore Road, Brooklyn, witnessed the presentation."
