Aircraft History Built by North American Aviation (NAA). Disassembled and transported overseas and reassembled. One of sixty P-51 Mustangs assigned to the AURI (Akngkatan Udara Republik Indonesia). Indonesian Air Force serial number F-361 with two seats. By 1985, six AURI Mustangs remained in service and only two survive to the present day, this aircraft being one of them. Display Displayed at the Museum Dirgantara Mandala Yogyakarta Indonesia (Indonesian Air Force Museum). Repainted P-51D Mustang serial number F-338, the aircraft assigned to an Indonesian pilot Captain Ignatius Dewanto who was credited down with an aerial victory. Alex Sidharta adds: "The only AURI pilot who has ever shot down an enemy aircraft is Captain Ignatius Dewanto as mentioned in the article. He flew P-51D serial F-338 shooting down [an A-26 piloted by] CIA Allan Pope in PPRI/Permesta Conflict."
