Aircraft History Built by Northrop. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-61B-1-NO Black Widow serial number 42-39417. Shipped overseas to China Burma India (CBI). Wartime History At the end of the Pacific War, one of three P-61s were seized by Communist Chinese forces in China. Afterwards, two of the captured P-61s were destroyed, only this aircraft survived and was later taken to Beijing. Display This P-61 is on static displayed at Beijing Aviation Museum (Beijing Air and Space Museum). Repainted black with the nickname "Black Widow" and the nose art of a spider web on the left side of the nose. References Other sources list the serial number of this plane as 42-2234 [sic].
