Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation at San Diego as Model 32. Constructors Number 1099. Assigned to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24D-25-CO Liberator 41-24304. On January 26, 1943 delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as PB4Y-1 Liberator bureau number 31975.

Wartime History
Assigned to Bombing Squadron 102 (VB-102). Nicknamed "Stoop-N-Droop".

On November 10, 1943 assigned to VB-106 (VB-106) and retained the nickname "Stoop-N-Droop".. This bomber was used for non-combat missions including training missions, navigation flights, instrument flying, radio and radar practice and administrative flights.

On March 22, 1944 assigned to Bombing Squadron 104 (VB-104) "Screaming 104 / The Buccaneers" and retained the nickname "Stoop-N-Droop" at the end of their first tour of duty. Used for training, navigation, instrument, radio and radar practice, and administrative flights.

Afterwards, flown by the squadron back across the Pacific to NAS Kaneohe Bay then onward to NAAS Camp Kearney in San Deigo where some of their bombers were transferred to other squadrons.

Afterwards, assigned to Bombing Squadron 108 (VB-108), Patrol Bombing Squadron 123 (VPB-123) and finally Patrol Bombing Squadron 122 (VBP-122).

Fate
On July 31, 1945 stricken off charge. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.

(Page 5) "In addition to the combatant planes, this squadron obtained from VB-102, a non-combatant PB4Y-1, Bu.No. 31975, on 10 November 1943, and delivered it to VB-104 on 22 March 1944. It was valuably used for bounce drill, navigation, instrument, radio and radar practice, and for innumereble necessary administrative flights."
