On January 5, 1944 the all pictured were crew members aboard PB4Y-1 Liberator 32019 on a low level oblique photographic reconnaissance mission over Kwajalein Atoll and was shot down by Japanese fighters and crashed into the sea about 15 miles south with the entire crew officially listed as Missing In Action (MIA).
