Aircraft History
Built by Short in Rochester, Kent United Kingdom. Constructors Number 4667. Assigned to Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number ML794.

Wartime History
Assigned to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) to 302 FTU Oban. October 18, 1944 assigned to F/L Shepherd and BOC No. 1 Aircraft Depot on December 4, 1944. Nicknamed "Mataatua" with code ZK-AMG.

Postwar
On September 30, 1947 stricken from charge and sold to NZNAC. Placed in reserve and never issued with a full certificate of airworthiness. On March 31, 1949 this aircraft made its last flight.

On February 9, 1951 returned to RNZAF and stored outdoors at Hobsonville Airfield during the early 1950s. Offered for sale by GSB Tender number 4365 on May 28, 1951 but unsold. Offered for sale under GSB tender number 5625 on November 23, 1953. Declared surplus November 3, 1954 and scrapped sometime afterwards.
