Dixon crew that survived 34 days at sea before reaching Pukapuka Island
(Left to Right) AOM2c Anthony "Tony" J. Pastula, ACMM Harold F. Dixon and RM3c Gene Aldrich with their life raft, the crew of TBD-1 Devastator 0335 ditched January 16, 1942 and survived 34 days floating at sea before reaching Pukapuka Island (Puka Puka Island) where they were rescued by USS Swan (AVP-7).
