TBM Avenger 46214 warming up with pilot Lt(jg) George H. W. Bush in the open cockpit
On September 2, 1944 pilot TBM Avenger 46214 took off from USS San Jacinto (CVL-30) a bombing mission over Chi Chi Jima hit by anti-aircraft fire and bailed out landing in the sea and was rescued by USS Finback (SS-230).
