Four hours earlier, Bush bailed out of TBM Avenger 46214 after it was damaged by anti-aircraft fire over Chi Chi Jima and landed safely and deployed his life raft and was filmed moments before rescue by Torpedoman First Class, Donnet Kohler waiting on the bow of the submarine.
