Aircraft History Built by General Motors, Eastern Aircraft Division during 1945. Constructors Number 3399. Delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as TBM-3 Avenger Bureau Number 53337. Postwar On May 29, 1952 assigned to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). This Avenger was SOC on January 10, 1958. During 1958, purchased by Skyway Air Services in Langley, BC and registered as CF-IMI. This aircraft was converted into an aerial tanker number 601. During 1981 purchased by Forest Protection Ltd. in Fredericton, NB. Painted in the markings of tanker number 1. During 1984 until 1994 stored outdoors. During 1994, sold to Vintage Wings of Seattle to Mr. Warren Al Pietsch in Minot, ND who registered it N337GA. In 2001, sold to Mr. R. D. Williams of GWG Inc. and based at Seattle-Boeing Field, WA. Painted in U.S. Navy markings with fuselage code 337. Registration N337GA was canceled on February 7, 2006. In 2006, sold to Mr. Stephen Searle in Kallangur, QLD. On April 5, 2006 registered in Australia as VH-VTB. On June 20, 2012 purchased by Round Engines Pty. Ltd. in Toowoomba, QLD.
