Aircraft History Built by Vultee in Los Angeles. Assigned Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number AF929. Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Vengeance Mark IIA serial number A27-247. On April 24, 1943 assigned to 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On May 28, 1943 at Point Cook Airfield. On July 23, 1943 assigned to No. 25 Squadron. Wartime History On September 19, 1943 crashed at Pearce Airfield. On August 19, 1944 assigned to 17 Repair Salvage Unit (17 RSU). On October 1, 1944 returned to No. 25 Squadron. On January 2, 1945 assigned to 4 Air Depot (4 AD). On May 16, 1946 struck off charge. On June 22, 1948 sold as surplus for disposal. Wreckage This Vengeance was abandoned at Lancelin Airfield in Western Australia. In the 1970s, the wreckage was recovered. Display Displayed partially assembled, at the Malcolm Green Aircraft Museum, Whaleworld, Albany, WA in 2004. Since at least 2006, the cockpit section is stored at Precision Aerospace.
