Aircraft History
Built by Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC). Constructor Number 11. Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as CA-1 Wirraway serial number A20-19. No known nickname or markings.

Wartime History
During November 1940 assigned to No. 21 Squadron at Laverton Field. Next, assigned to Central Flying School (CFS).

Mission History
On May 23, 1942 took off from Laverton Field piloted by Flying Officer David S. Ambrose, 407398 with Pilot Officer Leonard C. Fenly on a flight. While flying at low altitude, suffered a high speed stall causing it to flick and at 2:10pm crash inverted at Warral in New South Wales. Both crew were killed on impact.

Wreckage
Afterwards, written off and the wreckage was converted into components.

Memorials
Ambrose is buried at Tamworth General Cemetery at C. of E. Plot. Sec. N. Row 1. Grave 07. (GRM/2). He is also memorialized on The New South Wales Garden of Remembrance.

Fenly is buried at Tamworth General Cemetery at C. of E. Plot. Sec. N. Row 1. Grave 8. (GRM/2). He is also memorialized on The New South Wales Garden of Remembrance.
