Location
Lat 19º, 19' S. Long 146°, 44'E  Aitkenvale Weir Airfield is located near the Ross River north of Townsville in Queensland in Australia. Also known as "Weir Airfield" or "Weir Field".

Wartime History
At the start Pacific War, used by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) fighter aircraft including P-40E Kittyhawks from 75 Squadron.

On May 9, 1942 during take off from Aitkenvale Weir Airfield P-40E Kittyhawk A29-88 and P-40E Kittyhawk A29-84 collided with both pilots unhurt.
