During the Pacific War, known as RAAF Albion Park. Today known as Wollongong Airport or Illawarra Airport or Illawarra Regional Airport.

Construction
Built in 1941 by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as RAAF Albion Park.

Wartime History
Used by the RAAF as an operational base during World War II.

Today
Today known as Wollongong Airport or Illawarra Regional Airport and classified as a small airport at 31' above sea level. The airport has two runways. The first oriented 26/08 measures 4,367' x 98' surfaced with asphalt. The second is 34/16 measures 5,967' x 98' surfaced with asphalt. Airport codes: ICAO: YWOL IATA: WOL.
