Location Lat 17° 22' 12S Long 123° 39' 38E Derby Airfield is located at an elevation of 25' above sea level south of Derby in Western Australia in Australia. Construction Wartime airfield. B-24L Liberator A72-71 Abandoned at Derby Stan Gajda adds: "I found a F2A Buffalo A51-5 near Derby which had NEI markings, orange black-bordered triangles, with code 'B3-174'. The Buffalo must have escaped from Batavia during the Japanese invasion and pressed into service with the RAAF. This wreckage is now in Sydney [wing tip donated to AWM]." Today Still in use today as Derby Airport. Classified as a small airport with two runways. The first oriented 23/05 meausres 3,799' x 59' surfaced with gravel.
