Stan Gajda adds:
"I found a F2A Buffalo A51-5 near Derby which had NEI markings, orange black-bordered triangles, with code 'B3-174'. The Buffalo must have escaped from Batavia during the Japanese invasion and pressed into service with the RAAF. This wreckage is now in Sydney [wing tip donated to AWM]."

Today
Still in use today as Derby Airport. Classified as a small airport with two runways. The first oriented 23/05 meausres 3,799' x 59' surfaced with gravel. The second oriented 29/11 measures 5,696' x 98' surfaced with asphalt. Airport codes: ICAO: YDBY IATA: DRB.
