This airfield was maintained by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) 76 Operational Base Unit. Learmonth Missing In Action (MIA) January 6, 1944 aboard Beaufort A9-346. Postwar During the 1950s, became known as "RAAF Learmonth". Today Still in use today as Learmonth Airport used as both a military and civilian airport. Airport codes: ICAO: YPLM IATA: LEA.
