Location
Lat 24°59′32″N Long 102°44′36″E Located 5.2 miles northeast of the city center of Kunming. Connected by a toll highway and Provincial Road S101.

Construction
During 2009, construction of the airport and two runways began. The new airport it was officially opened on June 28, 2012, with the closing of the Kunming Airfield (Wujiaba) International Airport.

Today
Known as Kunming Changshui International Airport, airport code KMG, ZPPP. Also known as "New Kunming Airport".
