| Location Lat 39° 47' 27N Long 127° 32' 8E Yonpo Airfield 연포비행장 is located to the east of Yonpo (Yonp'o) and north of inland from Hamhung Bay and Hŭngnam (Hungnam) inland from the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula in South Hamgyŏng Province in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). Also known as Yonpo Air Base. During the Korean War, designated K-27 or K-27 Air Base. Construction Built by the Japanese for use by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). Korean War During the Korean War, used by United Nations (UN) forces until late Decmeber 1950. When the area was evacuated, enemy mortar fire was landing in the airfield area.
