Location Lat 9°45'46.50"N Long 140°31'4.69"E Fais Airfield is located at the center of Fais Island in Yap State in the Federated States of Micronesia. Also known as Fais Airport or Fais Civil Airfield. Located roughly 166 miles / 268 km east of Yap Airport and 53 miles / 85 km east of Ulithi Atoll. Construction During early 1945, built by the U.S. to support Ulithi Atoll (Urushi Atoll) to the west. Today Still in use today as Fais Airport with a single runway that measures 3,000' / 910m surfaced with chipseal, without fuel or any support facilities and is unattended. During the 1990s serviced by Caroline Islands Air. Today, used only by Pacific Missionary Aviation. A flight permit is required for aircraft that intend to land or take off.
