Location
Megeson Airfield was located on Mesegon Island (Megeson) in Truk Lagoon in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. Also known as "Megeson Airfield".

Construction
After the February 1944 "Operation Hailstone" attack on Truk, the Japanese began construction of an airstrip at Megeson for a fighter strip. They had made a clearing by April 29, 1944, but it was never completed. An observation tower was completed and some buildings built. In conjunction with the airfield construction, a detachment of 227th Construction Battalion was stationed on the island.
