November 25, 1944
(IJN) Thirteen A6M Zeros based at Rota,
flew in low under US radar and attacked the airfield and
B-29's based there.
November 27, 1944
(IJN) Three days after B-29s bombed Tokyo, 16 Zeros from Iwo Jima came in low, under radar and without early warning. They straffed parked B-29s at Isley Field at noon, destroying or damaging several B-29s; AA and
intercepting fighters claimed 10 aircraft.
November 29, 1944
(IJN) G4M Betty bombers from Iwo Jima attempted to bomb Isley Field in the dark and missed.
December 7, 1944
(IJN) G4M Betty bombers from Iwo Jima bomb Isley Field during daylight hours, and destroy 3 B-29s and damage others.
December 25, 1944
(IJN) 25 x G4M Betty bombers from Iwo Jima attack Isley Field. Two B-29s were destroyed in the raid, one fully fueled and loaded.
