Japanese missions against Mariveles and Mariveles Airfield

(IJN) Japanese Naval land attack planes from Takao Kōkūtai (Takao Air Group) and 1st Kōkūtai (1st Air Group) bombing of shipping in Manila Bay and set on fire seized French steamship Si-Kiang off Mariveles; of the 8-man USMC guard detachment on board (from 1st Separate Marine Battalion), two marines are killed and three wounded. Tug Napa (AT-32) assists in fire-fighting efforts.

(FEAF) Mariveles and southern Bataan Peninsula are pounded by B-24s and A-20s throughout the morning and afternoon.

(FEAF) B-24s bomb Mariveles on Bataan Peninsula.

February 15, 1945
(U.S. Army) At 10:00am the U.S. Army, 38th Infantry Division, 151st Regimental Combat Team (151st RCT) "South Force" made an amphibious landing at Mariveles and split into two advances with one prong advancing to the northeast and reached Limay February 18, 1945. The other prong advance to the northwest and reached Bagac February 21, 1945.

(FEAF) A-20s support ground forces in the Mariveles area.
