(USN) Five PB4Ys that took off from Guadalcanal on a predawn attack on Kahili. Two from VB-102 and three from VB-101 dropped cluster bombs from 12,000' over Kahili. On the return leg, two from VB-102 were jumped by a J1N1 Irving night fighter from the 251 Kokutai. One fighter was seen to crash and burn. PB4Y-1 31952 (MIA) was shot down by night fighters and observed going down.

(13th AF, USMC) 16 B-24's from the 307th BG and 9 B-24s from the 5th BG, 31st BS escorted by eight P-40s of the 44th FS and 22 F4Us from VMF-124 on a bombing mission over Kahili Airfield. The bombers drop 520 x 100lbs bombs on the runway and revetment areas and claim twenty aircraft destroyed on the ground. Returning, the formation is attacked by roughly 30 A6M Zeros over Ballale. 70th FS pilot Cosgrove claimed a Zero and F4U piloted by Ken Walsh claimed two. In total, they the Allies claim 11 Zekes shot down. Lost is P-40F piloted by Smith and F4U Corsair.

(13th AF) At night, 13 B-24 bomb Kahili Airfield. Returning, one B-24 returning is hit by friendly anti-aircraft due to a Japanese air raid over Guadalcanal.

(USMC) F4U Corsairs from VMF-214 conduct a strafing mission against Kahili Airfield (Buin). En route to the target, the formation experienced bad weather and became separated with only F4U piloted by Lt. Alvin J. Jensen strafing the target and claiming 24 aircraft burned, Japanese records indicate only five were burned and COMAIRSOLS claims only four. Lost is F4U Corsair 02577 pilot Lanphier who was taken POW, died May 15, 1944.

21 B-24's, covered by 14 P-38's, bomb a bivouac near Kahili; 30 P-40's and P-39's and 15 USN F4U's support 50+ USN dive bombers in a strike on the hangar area of the airfield at Kahili.

27 B-24's, 20+ P-40's and P-39's, and several USN fighters pound the Kahili area.

(13th AF, USN) 23 B-24's, covered by 16 P-38's and several USN F4U's, bomb Kahili Airfield; 20-30 fighters intercept, and a running battle occurs between Bougainville and Vella Lavella; US fighters and bombers claim 9 fighters downed; no American losses are suffered.

(13th AF) 24 B-25's of the 42nd BG and 14 P-38's carry out a low-level strike against Kahili Airfield at dusk dropping parafrag bombs, damaging or destroying several parked aircraft. Lost is B-25D 41-30567 (MIA).

(13th AF) The remaining aircraft hit Kahili Airfield and surrounding  areas, hitting runways, a fuel dump, supply area, buildings. The bombing was not accurate with about half the load falling into the water off Bougainville 'killing many small fish'. Jumped by 10-15 Zeros, and fired on by accurate anti-aircraft guns at Kahili.
