The upper edge of the photo is south and the lower edge is north. This view is from roughly 18,000' of bombing damage after bombing by nineteen B-24D Liberator that dropped a total of 152 x 1,000 pounds on the runway area. Their raid was followed by thirty SBD Dauntless dive bombers, twenty-four TBF Avengers and two squadrons of B-25D Mitchells from 42nd Bombardment Group (42nd BG). The annotations include the north arrow with 1,000' rectangle indicated plus dispersal bays and control tower. (2) five underground structures (3) automatic AA guns destroyed.
