Location
Lat 5 56' Long 155 18' Tenakau Airfield was located at Tenakau (Tenekow) on the eastern coast of Bougainville Island. Also known as Tenekow, Tenekai, Tenekau. Today, located in Central Bougainville District in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Construction
During 1943 built by the Japanese with a single runway.

Wartime History
Used by the Japanese in a limited capacity. During December 1943, attacked by American aircraft.

American missions against Tenakau
December 1–20, 1943

Today
Disused since the Pacific War.
