Location
Miyoshino Airfield is located near the center of Shumshu Island (Shimushu). Also known as "No. 2 Shumshu Airfield".

Construction
Built by Japanese.

Wartime History
This airfield based several Army and Navy units including B5N2 Kate, G3M Nell and Ki-43 Oscars.

Ralph Weitherhorn adds:
"In 2003, on Shimushu looks a bit like an ancient Roman ruin. Nothing above ground stands, but the outlines of the runway, revetments, gun pits, and hangar area are all readily identifiable. The area is totally abandoned. Would not be surprised to find wrecked planes in the area."
