Wartime History
Used as an emergency bomber airfield for aerial operations over American Samoa. Only two planes were noted to have landed and taken off from this airfield. Abandoned during early 1945 due to lack of use and turbulence.
Today
Disused since the war, the outline of the airfield is visible from the air. Today, the WVUV-AM radio tower, Leone High School and Midkiff Elementary School are built over the airfield.
