Chronology

Vila and Vila Airfield on the southeast corner of Kolombangara Island bordering Blackett Strait and Arundel Island
To the east is Disappointment Cove (Vila Harbor, Hamberi Cove) and to the west is Elliot Cove (Ringi Cove). Offshore is Sasamboki Island (Devil's Island) in the Blackett Strait. To the south is the northern coast of Arundel Island and offshore islands including Sagekarasa Island.
