    Okayama Airfield (Gangshan Air Base)  Taiwan (Formosa)
Location
Lat 22° 46' 57N Long 120° 15' 45E  Okayama Airfield is located in Gangshan District near Kaohsiung (Takao) in Taiwan (Formosa) in the Southern Taiwan Region. To the north is the Chikushiko River (Chikushiko-kei) and to the east was Okayama. Also known as Shenei, Shoka.

Construction
Built prewar with three intersecting runways with taxiways and dispersal areas and revetments to the north and south of the airfield. At the eastern end of the airfield was Okayama Aircraft Plant with a radio station and administrative area. To the north was a fuel storage area.

Wartime History
Okayama Airfield was occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War. During late 1944 until 1945 attacked by American bombers and fighters.

American missions against Okayama Airfield
October 14, 1944–June 28, 1945

Today
Still in use today as Gangshan Air Base as a military airport with two runways. The first is oriented 36L/18R measures 8,019' x 145' surfaced with concrete. The second is oriented 36R/18L measures 7,435' x 145' surfaced with asphalt. Airport code: ICAO: RCAY.
