Lat 26° 4' 21N Long 80° 9' 10W  NAS Fort Lauderdale is located at an elevation of 9' above sea level Fort Lauderdale, Broward in Florida in the United States of America (USA).

Wartime History
During World War II, used by the U.S. Navy (USN) as a training base for TBF/TBM Avenger torpedo bombers. Among the Naval aviators who were stationed at NAS Fort Lauderdale was Ensign George H. W. Bush who later became the 41st U.S. President of the United States (POTUS). During the war, a total of 95 personnel were killed or went missing from NAS Fort Lauderdale.

The most famous incident related to Naval flight operations at NAS Fort Lauderdale happened immediately after World War II when Naval flight operations and training missions were still being flown. On December 5, 1945 a routine training flight of five TBM Avengers on training flight of five TBM Avengers "Flight 19" flying "Navigation problem No. 1" to conduct bombing and navigation flight eastward to Bermuda. Returning, the formation became lost with all five ditched or crashed in the "Bermuda Triangle".

Today
Still in use today as Fort Lauderdale International Airport (Fort Lauderdale Airport). Airport codes: FAA: FLL ICAO: KFLL IATA: FLL. The airport has three runways. The first is oriented 27L/09R measures 5,276' x 100' surfaced with asphalt. The second is oriented 27R/09L measures 9,000' x 150' surfaced with asphalt. The third is oriented 31/13 measures 6,930' x 150' surfaced with asphalt.
