Location Peale Island Seaplane Base was located on Peale Island. Construction Built prewar as a seaplane ramp, facilities and terminal for Pan American flyingboats. Prewar, the US Navy began construction of a Naval Air Station, that was never completed. Wartime History Occpied by the Japanese, who used the seaplane base facilities for the remainder of the Pacific War.
