Location Lat 21° 13' 16N Long 105° 48' 26E Noi Bai Airport is located in Phú Cường, Soc Son District roughly 28 miles north of Hanoi in Vietnam. Also known as Nội Bài International Airport or Hanoi Airport. Also spelled Noibai Airport. In Vietnamese known as "Sân bay Quốc tế Nội Bài". Construction Built postwar, the airfield was opened on January 2, 1978. This is the main airport servicing Hanoi and the largest airfield in north Vietnam. On October 10, 2001 a new “Terminal One” was opened. Today Noi Bai Airport uses airport codes: ICAO: VVNB, IATA: HAN. The airport has two runways. The first oriented 29L/11R measuring 12466' x 148' surfaced with concrete. The second runway oriented 29R/11L measuring 12466' x 148' surfaced with concrete. During 2010, the airport received approximately 9.5 million passengers, which made it overloaded, and accounted for one-third of international departures and arrivals at Vietnam’s three international airports.
