FEAF: The first of eight days of searches are flown by Fifth Air Force aircraft for B-25H 43-4149 missing October 7, 1945. A search is flown by a single L-5 search with U.S. Army jeeps dispatched to rescue the four surviving crew that were quickly found by civilians and the Japanese police. On the ground, U.S. forces worked with local police, rail road employees, civilians, fisherman and town officials to learn if there were any reports about the missing plane.
