General George C. Kenney presents the Medal of Honor earned by Major Thomas B. McGuire, Jr. to his widow Marilynn Elaine “Pudgy” who immediately gave the medal to his father at a ceremony at Paterson City Hall in Paterson, New Jersey.

THURSDAY, 21 MARCH 1946
General George C. Kenney becomes the first Commander In Chief of the newly formed Strategic Air Command (SAC).
