FRIDAY, 11 MAY 1951

(SAAF) Four Mustangs took off on a on a road interdiction in the Kaesng area north of Seoul and bomb a dam then land at Chinhae Airfield (K-10) to refuel and rearmed with rockets then took off again on another search mission. Damaged by anti-aircraft fire is F-51D Mustang 309 pilot Lt. Vernon R. Kruger bailed out. The other three Mustangs circle him until low on fuel. His flight leader F-51D Mustang 322 pilot Jan Blaauw stayed overhead until out of fuel then force landed nearby. Both were rescued by helicopter.
