Background
The Japanese 13.2mm Machine Gun Type 93 (1933) 九三式十三粍機銃 Kyū-san Shiki Jū-san Mirimētoru Kijū was used by the Imperial Japanese Army and Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). The weapon was a license-built version of the Hotchkiss M1930 machine gun manufactured by Yokosuka Naval Yard between 1935–1945. In Japanese Army service designated Type Ho 13 mm AA machine cannon ホ式十三粍高射機関砲 Ho Shiki Jū-san Mirimētoru Kōsha Kikanhō. A total of 1,495 or more were built by the end of the Pacific War.
