Technical Information

Background
This 150mm (15cm, 7.9") anti-submarine (A/S) mortar was intended for Japanese transports and cargo ships, to defend against US Navy submarines. The gun had two recoil cylinders atop the barrel and was installed in a cradle mounting. The projectile fired was 27kg (60lbs) to a maximum range of 4,100m.
