Wartime History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as Type 97 20mm Automatic Gun (Anti-Tank Rifle) serial number unknown. This gun was transported to New Britain. Wartime History During the Japanese occupation of New Britain, this gun was abandoned in the Kandrian area of West New Britain. Display This gun is displayed at Kandrian, painted with black and silver paint. Mark Reichman adds: "The PNGDF [Papua New Guinea Defense Force] was here during the elections and supposedly removed the firing mechanism from it.
