Wartime History
Built by Watervliet Arsenal  in Watervliet, New York as a 5" /51 caliber gun, mark 7 for the U.S. Navy (USN). During World War II, emplaced as a coastal defense gun on Eastern Island in Midway Atoll. Operated by a gun crew from the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC).

This gun has an unknown serial number, is missing the breech and has a shield on Eastern Island.
